Our Story
Built in 1906 as a Swedish Methodist church, Hamilton Venue is one of downtown Geneva's most distinctive and storied spaces. Lovingly restored, the building retains its soaring Gothic vaulted ceilings, breathtaking original stained glass windows, warm hardwood floors, and Edison string lights that create an atmosphere no modern venue can replicate.
At 2,500 square feet of beautifully appointed event space, Hamilton Venue is the incomparable backdrop for weddings, receptions, milestone parties, anniversaries, showers, workshops, pop-ups, and intimate celebrations of every kind, just steps from Geneva's charming downtown.

Please review these terms carefully before booking Hamilton Venue.
Last updated: 2026. These Terms and Conditions govern the rental and use of Hamilton Venue, located in Geneva, Illinois. By submitting a booking inquiry or reservation deposit, you agree to the terms below. Hamilton Venue reserves the right to update these terms at any time.
A signed rental agreement and a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total rental fee are required to confirm your event date. Dates are held on a first-come, first-served basis. The remaining balance is due no later than 30 days prior to the event date.
All deposits are non-refundable. Cancellations more than 90 days prior: deposit forfeited, no additional charges. Cancellations 30–90 days prior: 75% of total rental fee due. Cancellations fewer than 30 days prior: 100% of total rental fee due.
Hamilton Venue is permitted to accommodate a maximum of 100 guests at any time per local fire code. The renting party is solely responsible for ensuring guest count does not exceed this limit.
Hamilton Venue operates as a bring-your-own-beverage (BYOB) facility. Clients are responsible for all alcohol service and compliance with Illinois law. A licensed, insured bartender is strongly recommended. All food service vendors must be pre-approved by Hamilton Venue management.
Complimentary setup and teardown windows are included with each package. Access outside the reserved window is not permitted without prior written approval. All personal property, décor, and catering equipment must be removed by the end of the teardown window.
A refundable security deposit of $500 is required at the time of final payment, returned within 10 business days following the event less any deductions for damages. The renting party is financially responsible for any damage exceeding the deposit amount.
All events must comply with City of Geneva noise ordinances. Amplified music must conclude by 10:00 PM Sunday–Thursday and 11:00 PM Friday–Saturday unless otherwise approved in writing. Hamilton Venue reserves the right to terminate any event deemed unsafe or unlawful without refund.
Hamilton Venue is not liable for personal injury or property damage during a rental period. The renting party agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Hamilton Venue and its owners from any claims arising from the event. Event liability insurance is strongly recommended.
All vendors operating at Hamilton Venue, whether from our preferred list or independently selected, must provide a valid Certificate of Insurance naming Hamilton Venue as Additional Insured, plus applicable state or county licenses, no later than 14 days prior to the event.
Strictly prohibited: open flames or sparklers, confetti or glitter, affixing anything to historic ceilings or stained glass, smoking inside the venue, animals (except ADA service animals), and any illegal activity.
Hamilton Venue reserves the right to use photographs taken during events for marketing purposes. Clients who wish to opt out must submit a written request prior to the event date.
In the event of circumstances beyond Hamilton Venue's control, we will work in good faith to reschedule. If rescheduling is not possible, deposits may be held as credit toward a future booking.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kane County, Illinois.
